I have enjoyed working with authors for the past four years, and I am looking forward to focusing my time and attention on personal projects. I appreciate your support.
I’m always honored to receive book review requests from authors. Before sending a request, please take some time to read this page.
I receive a high volume of requests and can’t accept every book, so it makes a HUGE difference when I know an author has read my review policy.
All books must be professionally edited with professionally-designed, genre-relevant covers.
Genres: I only read mystery. Cozy, crime, detective, and traditional are always my top subgenres, but occasionally I’ll go for a thriller if the description interests me. I love quirky, fun murder mysteries—especially of the locked room, closed circle, and/or Golden Age variety. I never say no to a dash of romance, too.
I love Agatha Christie, Richard Osman, and Elizabeth Peters. I do not read anything with excessive violence or gore. I do not read horror. My pet peeve are books with dumb female main characters. Not realistic!
Formats: I prefer print (paperback or hardcover), but also accept eBook (EPUB, Mobi, BookFunnel, NetGalley). I do not accept PDFs. I rarely listen to audiobooks. Shipping note: I am a US resident.
Timeline: For ARC requests, I require at least 60 days before the pub date to read and review. If I am backlogged, I will tell you upfront. I have a lot on my shelf and can’t guarantee timely reviews, so if timing is important to you, please let me know ahead of sending a copy.
If you want to just send a copy with no review expectations, I will usually accept it. Just ask!
Posting: I post reviews on Instagram and Goodreads. If I really loved the book and can find a good angle to pitch it, I’ll post about it on TikTok. I only post on Amazon if I purchased the book from Amazon (for a “verified review”).
I also like doing “book mail” posts on Instagram and TikTok, regardless of if I’ve read the books yet or not. (Here’s an example.)
All of my reviews are my honest opinions. If I don’t like a book, it’s within my right to not finish it, and/or write a review that reflects my experience. If that possibility bothers you, I may not be the book reviewer for your book.
How to submit:
Send an email to manon [at] authorimprints [dot] com with the following information:
- Title
- Summary (include comps, if you can)
- Pub date (especially if it’s an ARC)
- Expectations for a review, if timing important to you. If it is, I will need to consider if I can commit to your timeline.
- Link to Goodreads and/or Amazon
I do not accept review requests via DMs on Instagram or TikTok. I easily miss those messages. Please take the time to email me, and if you have emailed without a response, I don’t take offence to a nudge. I actually appreciate a kind reminder!
